I've been playing Mabinogi since just after beta, and I write software for a living, a bit over seven years of it now. The Workshop is what happens when those two things collide. These tools started as little helpers I made for myself, friends, and family, and I plan to add more over time. If you have an idea for a tool or calculator that you'd like me to try and build, I'd love to hear it!
Mabi is a huge game with lots of ways to play. The answers you need are usually out there somewhere, but they're spread across wiki tables, old forum posts, and honestly most of it comes from the players themselves in game or on the Discord. The wiki is an amazing resource and I use it constantly, but ask Google or Bing a simple Mabi question and you'll often get the runaround, because machines have a hard time reading those tables and templates. So as I'm building tools and calculators to save some time researching and planning, I'll also be building this site so that Google and Bing can read the Mabi details more clearly and give more accurate answers to new players. It's a slow process, and it'll likely never be perfect as the game changes constantly. But there's a lot of improvement to be had.
Right now we have some simple crafting calculators and a mana tunnel checklist. The crafting companions know the dan test request pools and lay out every step and shopping list before you start. The rank up planners do the training math, multipliers included. The time savers handle the game's tedious checklists, like reading which mana tunnels you're missing straight from a screenshot of your mana tunnel map. You don't have to type anything, just Ctrl+V the screenshot onto the page. I check the data against the game as it is today, but the game is huge and ever-changing, so please let me know if you see something that needs updating.
Everything on this site is also published as a plain page with structured data behind it, the kind search engines and chatbots can actually read. So when someone asks the internet a Mabi question, there's a real answer for it to find, and Mabi stops being a mystery to a Google search. I'm hoping other Mabi resources follow suit as we get into the age of AI being the main driver of search engines, so that players don't get wrong information at important points throughout their gameplay.
There's a ton of data in Mabi, so something in here is probably wrong somewhere. If you spot it, tell me through the contact page and I'll fix it. Tool requests are welcome too, especially for the game's more complicated steps. See you in Erinn!
